Called in as part of a lovely walk around the Dales... welcome fine, drinks no problem at all.... fancied a snack so enquired at the bar if they could maybe rustle up a toasted sandwich or two... sadly not on the menu.... how about just a …
We booked last minute and stayed in a standard room, there was nothing standard about it, it was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was so well thought out from the toiletries and heated bathroom floor, to the coffee machine and …
This was a long awaited visit to the hotel. We were welcomed, made to feel like locals and looked after from the get go.|Lindsay, you have done a truly wonderful job with the Aysgarth Falls Hotel, when we told you this, the first thing you …
The hotel is clean and well maintained. Our room was spacious and modern. The atmosphere in the bar area was really good with a log fire and the staff are very good and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. Would definitely go back. Beautiful setting close to the Aysgarth falls.
We have stayed at the hotel before and had a fantastic time. So we chose to take some friends for Sunday lunch. I wasn't disappointed. The main restaurant is decorated to a high standard with beautiful paintings and wall coverings. The food was of a very high standard and at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and attentive. All in all, a great place to stay or just have a meal. Definitely going back.
Fantastic place with excellent staff, good beers, super views over the hills (providing the weather is good), really, really fantastic food. Rooms were of a high standard and the decor of the dining area and bars were nicely done. Car park did look a bit overcrowded at times but obviously that indicated how good the place is. The actual Falls, within walking distance, were impressive.
Location - excellent, the falls are stunning. Lots of walks/hikes to do from the hotel. It’s very scenic from the dining area and our room
Room - deluxe king room. Really spacious, huge bed, 40inch smart Tv to watch your Netflix etc. lovely big bath, bathroom even had heated flooring!
Only criticism of the room was, a couple of lightbulbs had gone from the main light. Bedside table lamps had missing bulbs. The bath running at higher pressure spit water backwards on the floor. These are small touches but when you’re paying £150 a night, they should be on top of them…
Dinner - not cheap, but in fairness it was good. If you book directly you can save a bit of money booking the room with dinner
Breakfast - spot on, good quality ingredients, really nice. No pastries as advertised though!
So why a 4* we really enjoyed our stay but felt like the place was missing a manager. There were lots of little things that added up. Some minor touches in the room (as above), a mix of staff (some more helpful than others), at dinner some tables had candles others didn’t, the pool table pockets netting need securing, most the cues don’t have tips on
Overall we enjoyed our stay but if they’re charging top dollar, I expect them to be all over the small things, and they were small things. Overall we enjoyed it and would recommend, but some room for improvement.
Really nice place. Excellent service from a professional general manager. There isn't anywhere else locally which comes close! We have now stayed there a few times and will do so again. Well done, Lynsey and team.
